June 2024 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Warm greetings from Monterrey, Mexico! As we move through the summer months, we are grateful for the continued faithfulness of God and the support of friends like you. We are excited to share with you the blessings and challenges we experienced in June.

Ministry Highlights

June was a month of celebration and reflection for our church family. We had the privilege of celebrating Father’s Day, which brought many families together for a special service. It was also a landmark month for our church as we celebrated the 42nd anniversary of Mount Hebron Baptist Church. This milestone is a testament to God’s grace and the enduring faith of our congregation. We were thrilled to see many visitors join us for this special day, and even more exciting was the fact that several of them made decisions for Christ. We rejoice in how God continues to strengthen and grow our church after 42 years.

Ongoing Needs

Despite the blessings, we continue to face challenges, particularly in our transportation needs. As our ministry expands, the need for reliable vans for soul-winning efforts and our bus ministry becomes more urgent. While we have been blessed by offerings from a couple of churches, we still need more support to meet this critical need. We ask for your continued prayers and support in this area.

Family Life

On the family front, we are enjoying a bit of downtime. With the kids off from school, we’ve been spending quality time together, soaking up the sun and enjoying the pool. These moments of relaxation and family bonding are a precious gift amidst our busy ministry schedule.

Evangelism and Outreach

One of the most encouraging aspects of our ministry this summer has been the steady participation in our soul-winning efforts. Even though summer can be a challenging time with lower church attendance, we’ve had an average of 50 people going out each week to share the Gospel. This level of involvement is remarkable for this time of year, and we are seeing the fruits of these efforts in our church services.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the heart of summer, our focus is on maintaining the growth we saw during the spring. Summer often brings its own challenges, as people tend to miss church more frequently due to vacations and other activities. Please pray with us that our congregation will remain committed and that we won’t lose the momentum we’ve built over the past months.

Prayer Requests

As always, we greatly value your prayers. Here are some specific requests for June:

  • Transportation: Please pray for the provision of vans for our soul-winning and bus ministry. While we’ve received some financial help, we still need additional support to fully meet this need.

  • Jenny’s Health: Pray for healing and relief for Jenny as she continues to experience pain in her knees.

  • Christian School Teacher: We are in need of a teacher for our Christian School who can cover their own expenses and speak English. Please pray that God will send the right person to join our ministry.

  • Church Growth: Pray that our church will remain strong and that our members will stay faithful throughout the summer.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We are continually reminded of God’s faithfulness and your partnership in the Gospel. Together, we are making a difference here in Monterrey, and we are grateful for each of you who stand with us in prayer and support.

May the Lord bless you abundantly.

In Christ,

Jonathan and Jenny Ashcraft
