September 2024
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Greetings from Monterrey, Mexico! We are excited to share with you the latest news from our ministry as we’ve now settled into the swing of the fall semester here at Mount Hebron Baptist Bible Institute. God has been so good to us, and we are thrilled to report that we’ve enrolled 77 men and women this semester, both in person and online! Many of these students are preparing to plant churches across Mexico, while others feel called to the mission field. It’s inspiring to see how God is raising up a new generation of servants to spread His Word throughout this nation and beyond.
Men's Dormitory Renovation
As we approach the colder months, we are reminded of the critical need to complete the renovations of the men’s dormitory—a need we shared with you in our previous letter. We are incredibly grateful for the churches and individuals who have already sent special offerings toward this project. Because of your generosity, we’ve raised $2,500 so far and have been able to purchase half of the materials for the flooring and materials for two of the four bathrooms, including showers and toilets.
Our goal is to raise over $10,000, so we still have a way to go. Would you please consider helping us over the next few weeks as we work to finish the dorm before the cold North Mexican winter arrives? Your support will ensure the men in our institute are warm and comfortable as they continue their studies and ministry preparation.
Dining Hall Project
In addition to the dormitory, we have another smaller but important project. Our dining hall is currently an open-air structure, and as the temperatures drop, we want to enclose it with drywall to provide warmth for the students, especially during those cold mornings when they gather for breakfast. This project isn’t as large as the dormitory work, but we still need to raise about $1,500 to complete it before the end of October. Your prayers and support in helping us meet this need would be greatly appreciated.
Church Growth and Upcoming Fall Campaign
We are excited to share that Mount Hebron Baptist Church continues to grow. Our average attendance has increased by over 20% compared to last year, and nearly every Sunday, we have seen people come to Christ, make public professions of faith, and follow the Lord in baptism. It has been such an encouragement to watch our congregation grow both in numbers and in spiritual maturity.
As we look ahead, we are preparing for our upcoming Fall Campaign, a nine-week emphasis on bringing visitors to church, seeing people make public professions of faith, and baptizing new believers. The theme for this campaign is "A Harvest of Blessings," and we are praying earnestly for laborers for the harvest. One of our greatest needs is for more workers to help with Sunday School, bus ministry, and children’s programs. Please join us in praying that God will give our church members a heart for service and a vision for the need for more laborers in His harvest field.
Prayer Requests
Completion of Men’s Dormitory: Pray that we can raise the remaining $7,500 needed to finish the dorm and provide warmth for our students this winter.
Dining Hall Enclosure: Please pray for the $1,500 needed to enclose the dining hall before the cold weather arrives.
Fall Campaign: Pray for our upcoming “Harvest of Blessings” campaign—that many will come to Christ, and that our members will catch the vision for serving and laboring in the ministry.
Laborers for the Harvest: We are asking for more Sunday School teachers, bus workers, and children’s workers as our ministry continues to grow.
We are so grateful for your faithful prayers and support. Your partnership in this ministry is helping us make an eternal impact in the lives of our students and in the communities we serve. We couldn’t do this without you, and we thank God for each and every one of you.
In Christ,
Jonathan and Jenny Ashcraft
